Necessary Ingredients For dal bati churma
- Wheat flour = 1 cup
- Semolina (suji) = 1/4 cup
- Baking soda = a pinch
- Ghee = 4 tbsp melted
- Salt = as per taste
- Milk Or water = as required
- Mix dal = for serving
Process for making dal bati churma
Pre-heat your oven at 190 degree celsius (375 degree fahrenheit). Now take a bowl and add wheat flour, semolina (suji), baking powder, 4 tbsp ghee and salt.
Mix all the ingredients well.
Now after mixing all the ingredients, add milk or water little by little in the mixture and knead a hard dough from it. This dough should be harder than the paratha’s dough.
After kneading the dough, let it rest for 15 to 20 minutes.
Now divide the dough into 8 equal portions and make a ball like shape from it. If there are some cracks in the dough then don’t worry about that because it is normal.
Now press all the balms between your palms one by one and put them into the baking tray.
Put the baking tray into the pre-heat oven and let it bake for the set time.
This will take about 15 to 17 minutes in baking.
Now flip each bati and again put it on a baking tray and bake it until the color of the bati converts into golden brown.
Now take melted ghee in a bowl and now dip every bati into the melted ghee. But if you do not want to dip it into a ghee then you can also sprinkle ghee with the use of brush.
Now take a serving plate and break bati into it, sprinkle some amount of ghee and then add mixed dal onto it.
Serve this dal bati churma with your favorite chutney or papad.
How to make dal bati into gas tandoor
Heat gas tandoor well and put dough bati on the grill and let it cook for about 20 to 25 minutes on medium flame. Let it cook from both the sides by flipping it.
How to make bati without oven and tandoor
Take a deep fry pan and pour oil in it for deep frying. Now add bati itno the the oil and let it fry on a medium flame because as the bati is thick so it will take time to fry from inside. that’s why it will take extra time to cook.
- Every company’s oven have different features so it will take more or less time to bake bati.
- If you want to make your bati crispy, then knead a dough by adding ghee instead of oil.
