Chicken Angara Recipe An auspicious and delicious recipe of Chicken is the most preferable by the chicken lovers. Here I am sharing a delicious recipe of making chicken which is chicken angara, the smokey flavor of chicken makes this dish more lip smacking than ever. The smooth and creamy texture of its gravy makes you craving for it. So let’s know how to make it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Chicken Angara Recipe
- Chicken = 1 kg
- Onion = 2 large size, finely chopped
- Tomato = 2, finely chopped
- Garlic = 4 to 5 cloves
- Ginger = 1 inch piece chopped
- Cashews = 10 to 12
- Red chili powder = 2 tsp
- Turmeric powder = 1 /2 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Coriander powder = 1 tsp
- Garam masala powder = 1/2 tsp
- Capsicum = 1, chopped in cubes
- Onion = 1, chopped in cubes and layered
- Oil = 3 tbsp
- Cinnamon stick = 1
- Bay leaf = 2
- Green cardamom = 3
- Cloves = 3 to 4
- Charcoal = a piece
Instructions For Making It
Firstly in a pan, add 1 tbsp of oil and heat it up. Then add cinnamon stick, bay leaf, green cardamom, cloves. Saute for a while and then add chopped onions and saute.
Further add chopped tomatoes, garlic cloves, cashews, ginger and saute for 30 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of water in it with some salt and cover the lid. Cook it on a medium flame till tomatoes gets soft and mushy.
Once tomatoes gets soft, turn the flame off and keep it aside for cooling.
After cooling of mixture, remove bay leaf from it and add all ingredients to the blender jar and blend it to a smooth paste.
Now sieve this paste so that the crunch or fibre of the vegetables or spices gets separate from it.
In a bowl, add chicken pieces and then add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt, garam masala powder and lemon juice. Mix all the ingredients well and marinate it for about 10 to 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, take a pan, add a tbsp of ghee or oil in it and add the marinated chicken in it. Cook the chicken well by continuously stirring it.
Cook the chicken till it 90% done. Add a dash of water if it gets burn in the bottom.
Keep this chicken aside.
Take another pan, add oil in it and heat it, then add cumin seeds and a tsp of ginger and garlic paste. Saute for a minute and then add the prepared onion tomato puree in it and mix well.
Furthermore add the cooked chicken in it and give it a nice mix.
Add chopped onion and tomato and cover the lid. Cook for about 2 to 4 minutes. Turn the flame off.
Take an aluminium foil cup, add active charcoal in it and place it the pan of chicken and pour some ghee on the charcoal, cover the lid and give it smoke for about a minute. Remove it.
Your delicious chicken angara is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with naan or chapati or rice and enjoy.
