Urad Dal Badi Recipe Hello everyone!! I hope you guys are doing well. Today I am going to share another good recipe for lunch which is easy to make and delicious in taste. The process of making it is also quite easy and if you are confused that what to make in lunch or for dinner, then this recipe will help you. So let’s know how to make it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Urad Dal Badi Sabzi
- Urad dal badi = 75 gm
- Potato = 250 gm
- Ginger = 1 inch piece
- Tomato = 2, small size
- Green chili = 2
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder = 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder = 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala powder = 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida = a pinch
- Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Green coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Oil = 2 tbsp
Instructions For Making It
Firstly take a grinder jar and add tomato, green chili and ginger in it. Grind them well into a smooth paste and keep aside.
Take a pan, add 1 tbsp of oil and heat it up. Then add badi in it and fry them till the turn golden in color. Continue to stir the spoon in it.
Take them out from the oil and keep them aside for cooling. Once they cool, break them into small pieces.
Now peel off the potatoes and chop them into cubes.
Take a pressure cooker, add 1 tbsp of oil and heat it up. Then add cumin seeds and asafoetida in it and let them splutter for a while.
Later add coriander powder, turmeric powder and cook them for 12 seconds.
Now add prepared paste of tomato and green chilies in it and cook it till oil separates from it. You have to continually stirring it to avoid burning.
Now add red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt in it and mix well with the spices.
Further add fried badi, chopped potatoes in it and mix them well with spices. Add 1 glass of water in it and mix well. Bring it to a boil, further cover the lid and cook it till it takes 2 whistles and then after releasing its pressure, let it cook for 5 to 7 minutes by opening the lid.
Finally, add chopped coriander in it and turn the flame off.
Finally, serve it in a serving bowl and serve it hot with chapati or naan or paratha. Enjoy.
