Tandoori Dhokla Recipe | How To Make Tandoori Dhokla At Home

Necessary Ingredients Required For Tandoori Dhokla

  • Gram flour = 2 cups
  • Lemon juice = 1 tbsp
  • Sugar = 2 tbsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Yellow chili powder = 1 tsp
  • Yellow food color = few drops
  • Baking soda = 1 tsp
  • Oil = 4 tbsp
  • Water = 2 tbsp

For Tandoori Marination

  • Red chili paste = 2 tbsp
  • Black salt = 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala = 1/2 tsp
  • Curd = 1 cup
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds = 2 tsp
  • Coriander = 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Mustard oil = 1 tbsp
  • Oil = to cook

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Take a mixing bowl, add water, yellow food color, lemon juice, sugar, chili powder, salt and mix them well. Further add oil in it and mix well.

Step 2

Now dd gram flour in it and mix it to make it lumps free. Make sure that the batter must be thick and fluffy.

Step 3

In a mould, add oil and grease it well.

Step 4

In batter, add baking soda and mix it well.

Step 5

Now transfer this batter to the greased mould.

Step 6

Take a large pan, add water in it and bring it to a boil, then place a stand in it and then put batter tin it.

Step 7

Put the flame on low and steam it for about 30 minutes.

Step 8

Till dhokla is steamed, let’s makes it’s tandoori marination, for that, take a bowl, add chili paste to it, then add black salt, chaat masala, coriander leaves and curd. Mix all the ingredients well.

Step 9

For tadka, take a tadka pan, add oil in it and heat it up. Then add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add ginger and garlic paste. Give it a stir and give this tempering to the marination.

Step 10

Once dhokla is steamed and cooked well, take it out from the pan and let it cool.

Step 11

After cooling, cut it into pieces and then coat it well into the prepared marination.

Step 12

Take a pan, add 2 tbsp of oil in it and heat it up, now put these marinated dhokla on it and fry them slightly.

Step 13

Flip them and fry them from all the sides.

Finally, your dhokla are now ready to serve. Serve them and enjoy.
