There are two types of chowmein, veg chowmein and non veg chowmein.
Today we will make veg chowmein, so let’s get started.
Necessary ingredients required-
- Noodles = 1 pack, 200 gram
- Green capsicum = 1 (chopped in thinly slices)
- Carrot = 1 (chopped in thinly slices)
- Cabbage = 1 cup (finely chopped)
- Oil or butter = 2 tablespoon
- Black pepper powder = 1/4 teaspoon
- Salt = 1 teaspoon
- Ginger (optional) = 1 inch piece (chopped in slice)
- Soya sauce = 2 teaspoon
- Chili sauce = 2 teaspoon
- White vinegar = 2 teaspoon
Procedure to make veg chowmein
Break the noodles and take a vessel, pour enough water to boil, so that noodles can easily drown in the water.
Add ½ teaspoon salt in the water and 2 teaspoon of oil. Now add noodles in the water and boil them for 8 to 10 minutes. You have to boil noodles about 80%.
Now take out the excess water from the noodles and wash them with the chilled water. Set them aside.
Take a pan, add oil or butter into the pan and heat it.
Now add ginger, carrot, capsicum and cabbage. Stir fry them by continuously tossing the vegetables.
Now add noodles along with the vegetables and also add salt, soya sauce, white vinegar, chili sauce and black pepper powder. Stir fry all the ingredients for 3 to 5 minutes.
Dish out the noodles and serve them hot with green chili sauce or tomato ketchup.
If you like onion in noodles, then chopped one onion into slices and sauté it until it turns into pinkish in color. And by using the same method, made your noodles.
