Sindhi Kadhi Recipe Sindi Kadhi is a combination of tangy and sour, that tastes just awesome with steamed rice. This is made by using tamarind pulp and tomatoes which gives it tangy taste. Although veggies are also added into this recipe which makes it different from the other kadhi recipes. Veggies like potato, okra, drumstick are added into it. Today I am going to share traditional method of making this recipe. This is made by using the basic ingredients which are easily available to you. Make this to impress everyone at your home. Necessary Ingredients Required For Sindhi Kadhi
- Lady fingers or okra = 1 cup, chopped
- Drumstick = 2, chopped in 1 inch pieces
- Potatoes = 3, medium, chopped in cubes
- Asafoetida = 1/4 tsp
- Curry leaves = 10
- Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds = 1/2 tsp
- Gram flour = 1/2 cup
- Tomatoes = 3, chopped
- Red chili powder = 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Ginger = 1 inch piece, grated
- Tamarind pulp = 2 tsp
- Oil = 1/2 cup
Method Of Making It- Step By Step
In a pan, add oil and heat it up.
After heating of oil, add asafoetida, mustard seeds, ginger, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. Saute till fragrant.
Now add gram flour in it and mix it well to make it lumps free.
Saute it till fragrant and add 2 cups water, mix well till it smooths.
Now add chopped tomatoes, mix them well and then add 1 more cup of water and mix it well, then add red chili powder, turmeric powder and salt in it. Mix it well.
Add potatoes and drumstick. Allow it to cook till they gets tendered. Then add okra and allow it to cook.
After it, add tamarind pulp, mix it and turn the flame off.
Now your sindi kadhi is ready, serve it hot with roti or rice.
