Samosa Recipe | How To Make Aloo Stuffed Samosa Recipe

I am making it in exactly halwai style and you will love it after making and eating it. The crispy and flaky outer part and the spicy stuffing of potato makes me already mouth watering. let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Samosa Recipe

For Dough

  • All purpose flour (maida) = 2 cups
  • Carom seeds = 1/4 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Oil = 1/2 cup
  • Water = as needed

For Aloo Stuffing

  • Potatoes = 5, boiled and mashed
  • Green chilies = 2, finely chopped
  • Red chili powder = 1 tsp
  • Coriander seeds = 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida = 1/4 tsp
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece, finely chopped
  • Dry mango powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Oil = 1 tbsp
  • Oil = for frying samosa

Method Of Making In Simple Steps

Preparation Of Stuffing

Step 1

Take a pressure cooker, add potatoes and 2 cups of water in it. Boiled potatoes and peel off the skin after boiling them.

Step 2

After cooling of potatoes, mash them and keep them aside.

Step 3

In a pan, add 1 tbsp of oil and heat it up.

Step 4

Ones the oil gets heated, add coriander seeds in it and let them splutter for few seconds.

Step 5

Then add chopped green chilies, ginger and saute for a second. Further add all the spices like red chili powder, cumin powder, asafoetida, salt, garam masala powder and dry mango powder. Mix all the spices well and then add boiled and mashed potatoes in the spices and mix till all the spices gets mixed with potato.

Step 6

Keep this stuffing aside for cooling.

For Kneading Dough

Step 1

Take a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, salt, carom seeds and oil in it. Mix well.

Step 2

Gradually add water in it and knead a smooth and stiff dough from the flour.

Making Of Samosa

Step 1

Pinch a potion from the kneaded dough and roll it to make a ball from it.

Step 2

Flatten the ball by using rolling pin and make a cone shape from it.

Step 3

Now add prepared stuffing in it and close the corners of the cones by applying water on the sides and stick them by pressing it.

Step 4

Make all the samosa with the similar process.

Step 5

Take a kadai, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 6

Add samosa in oil and fry them till samosa gets crisp and turn golden in color. Fry them on a medium flame.

Step 7

Shake off the excess oil and then transfer the samosa in a serving plate or a kitchen towel.

Your samosa are now done. Serve them hot with imli ki chutney or green chutney or with a cup of tea.
