Sambar Vada Recipe This recipe is the popular recipe of South-Indian cuisine. As sambar vada is a really delicious cuisine and the good thing is that it does not require much ingredient for this. You can simply use leftover sambar for this, thus you only have to make vada. Let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Sambar Vada

  • Moong dal = 100 gm
  • Split and dehusked urad dal = 200 gm
  • Green chilies = 3, finely chopped
  • Curry leaves = 4 to 5, finely chopped
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece, grated
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Oil = for frying

Instructions For Making Medu Vada

Step 1

Firstly for making this vada, wash and rinse both pulses well. Put them in a bowl and water in it.

Step 2

Soak them overnight. In the next morning, drain all the water from it and wash it for one more time with clean water.

Step 3

Add it into the grinder jar and grind them granulated. Grind it without adding water and if it becomes difficult to grind it then you can add water in a very lesser amount.

Step 4

Transfer the grind dal into a mixing bowl.

Step 5

Now add chopped curry leaves, grated ginger, chopped green chilies and salt. Mix all the ingredients well and make sure that all things must be combine well.

Step 6

Beat the mixture well.

Step 7

In a wok or a pan, add oil for deep frying and heat it up.

Step 8

Grease your hands with water and take a portion from the mixture. Make a falt shape with the mixture and then make a hole in center with finger.

Step 9

Add this prepared vada into the hot oil and make all the vada with the similar process.

Step 10

Add them to the oil and fry them till they turn golden brown in color. Flip them in between to fry them well.

Finally, your vada are now ready. Serve them in a plate by adding sambar on it.
