Red Coconut Chutney Recipe | Chutney For Idli And Dosa

Red Coconut Chutney Recipe A delicious spicy and aromatic chutney is all we want to make our meal more delicious. Here I am sharing a recipe of red coconut chutney which can be served with idli or dosa or any other south Indian cuisine. This is q quick and easy recipe of chutney which you can also make for breakfast and it gives you a delicious flavor of coconut and taste as well. You can also store this chutney for 3 to 4 days in refrigerator. So let’s know how to make this yummy chutney at home.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Red Coconut Chutney

  • Coconut = 1 cup, grated
  • Split chickpea (chana dal) = 1 tbsp
  • Kashmiri red chilies = 4
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece
  • Garlic = 4 cloves
  • Salt = as per taste

For Tempering

  • Oil = 1/2 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
  • Urad dal = 1/2 tsp
  • Dry red chili = 1
  • Curry leaves = few

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly grate the coconut and transfer it to a blender jar.

Step 2

Now add kashmiri red chilies and add ginger, garlic, salt and split chickpea.

Step 3

Add 1/4 cup of water and blend it to a fine paste.

Step 4

Transfer it to a bowl.

For Tempering, take a tempering pan, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 5

Then add mustard seeds in it and let them splutter for  while.

Step 6

Now add urad dal and let it splutter, then add red chili and saute.

Step 7

At last, add few curry leaves and saute till curry leaves turn crunchy. Turn the flame off and pour this tempering to the prepared chutney.

Finally, your delicious red coconut chutney is now ready. Serve it with idli or dosa and enjoy.
