Pudine Ke Patod Recipe Welcome back to the zayka recipe’s kitchen. Today I am going to make a delicious lunch recipe which is amazing in taste and mostly popular in summers. This is pudine ke patod recipe as we all know that mint keeps us cool with its minty flavor and is good to consume in summers. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Pudine Ke Patod

  • Mint leaves = a bunch
  • Gram flour = 250 gm
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Red chili powder = 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1/2 tsp

For Gravy

  • Onion = 2 medium size, pureed
  • Ginger garlic paste = 2 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder = 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Asafoetida = 2 pinch
  • Cumin seeds = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Oil = 2 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly clean and wash mint leaves well and then chop them finely.

Step 2

Take a large size pan and add water in it and cover the lid. Let the water boil.

Step 3

Take a mixing bowl, add chopped mint leaves, gram flour, ginger and garlic paste, red chili powder, garam masala powder and salt. Mix all the ingredients well. Do not add any amount of water in it but if it looks too dry then add a dash of water if needed and make a thick dough like batter from the mixture.

Step 4

Water is boiled now, put a colander on it by greasing it with oil.

Step 5

Also grease your palms with oil and take a small part from the mixture, make rolls from it and put them on the greased colander.

Step 6

When you place all the patod on the colander, cover it with a lid and turn the flame on medium. Let them steamed for about 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 7

After 20 minutes, remove the lid carefully and prick a toothpick in patod, if it comes out clean then patod are now ready otherwise stem them for more 5 minutes.

Step 8

Take them out from the pan and keep them aside for cooling, after cooling, cut them into slices and keep aside.

Step 9

Take a wok or a pan, add oil in it and heat it up. Then add prepared patod in it and fry them slightly till a beautiful golden color appears on them. Once they fried well, take them out. In the remaining oil, add 1 more tbsp of oil and then add cumin seeds in it and let them splutter for a while.

Step 10

Later add pureed onion in it and cook till onion turns light golden in color. Furthermore, add ginger and garlic paste and cook till raw smell disappears.

Step 11

Further add red chili powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder, salt and cook until oil separated from the gravy.

Step 12

Now add water as per your required consistency of gravy and then boil it well. Finally add fried patod in it and turn the flame on medium. Cook it for 5 to 7 minutes by covering the lid.

Finally, your delicious pudine ke patod are now ready to serve. Serve them hot with roti or paratha and enjoy.
