Potato Chips Recipe | Homemade Potato Chips Recipe

Potato Chips Recipe Chips are a perfect snack which is liked by all age groups. They are crispy, light and delicious as well. Nothing is more good than the homemade chips. They are served as snacks, side dish and appetizers too. I am using alum powder to soak them as alum gives it a nice color and crisp. You can also store them in a airtight container and can serve or consume it for about a week or more. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Potato Chips

  • Potato = 5
  • Water = 1 litre
  • Salt = 1 tsp
  • Alum (phitkari) = a pinch
  • Black pepper powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Oil = for deep frying

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly take a potato peeler, peel off the skin of potatoes and wash them well.

Step 2

Now chop potatoes into round slices by using chopper or knife.

Step 3

In a large size pan, add water and then add alum in it. Give it a stir and then add potato slices in it. Make sure they are soaked in it. Mix well in water and then remove them and wash them well in tap water for 2 times.

Step 4

Now put these slices on a  kitchen towel and pat dry them well. Put these slices under fan and let them air dry for about half an hour.

Step 5

In a wok, add oil and heat it up.

Step 6

Add potato slices one by one in hot oil and fry them. Do not overcrowd it.

Step 7

Flip them occasionally  and fry them well till they turn crispier. Once you add slices into the hot oil, turn the flame medium and then fry them.

Step 8

After frying them strain oil from it and shake off to remove excess oil.

Step 9

Put these fried chips to the kitchen paper to remove excess oil.

Finally, sprinkle some salt and black pepper powder and toss them.

Your delicious crispy and flaky potato chips are now ready to serve. Serve them and enjoy.
