Poha Vada Recipe | How To Make Poha (Flattened Rice) Vada

Necessary Ingredients Required For Poha Vada

  • Flattened rice or poha = 1 cup (thick)
  • Curd = 4 tbsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Onion = 1, small size, finely chopped
  • Green chili = 2, finely chopped
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1 tsp
  • Coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Rice flour = 2 tbsp
  • Oil = for frying

Instructions For Making Poha Step By Step

Step 1

Firstly, taka a sieve and add poha into it. Rinse it in water.

Step 2

Let the water drain completely from it and then transfer it into a mixing bowl.

Step 3

Now add curd and salt in it and mix it well. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

Step 4

After 10 minutes, mix it well and mash it so that poha becomes soft and mushy.

Step 5

Then add chopped onion, ginger and garlic paste, green chilies and chopped coriander. Mix all the things well.

Step 6

Further add rice flour in a mixture, and mix it till it absorb the excess water and mixture turns thick into a dough like consistency.

Step 7

Take a pan, pour oil in it and heat it up.

Step 8

Now pinch a small portion from the poha mixture and shape it round and then slightly press it.

Step 9

Add it into a medium hot oil and fry it. Add more poha balls into it and fry it till it turns crispier and golden brown in color.

Step 10

Flip it in between so that it must not burn. Shake off the excess oil and serve it.

Your pha vada are ready to serve. Serve them hot with sauce or green chutney.
