Peanut Sundal Recipe This is one of the most common sundal or prasad which is made during navaratri for god offering. It is made with boiled peanuts and seasoned with some basic sipices and grted coconut. The taste of this prasadam is really delicious that you can eat it without even in fast. So here I am sharing the recipe of peanut sundal which is quite delicious in taste and easy and quick in making. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Peanut Sundal

  • Peanuts = 2 cups
  • Water = as required
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Curry leaves = 5 to 6
  • Dry red chilies = 3, broken
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece, grated
  • Coconut = 5 tbsp, grated
  • Asafoetida = a pinch
  • Urad dal = 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
  • Oil = 1 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly in a bowl, add peanuts and soak them in 2 cups of water for 2 to 3 hours.

Step 2

After 3 hours, drain all the water from peanuts and transfer it to a pressure cooker. Add some water for boiling and a little bit of salt. Cover the lid and let it cook until 3 whistles.

Step 3

After 3 whistles, turn the flame off, release the pressure and drain off all the water. Keep peanuts aside.

Step 4

In a wok, add oil and heat it up.

Step 5

Add mustard seeds in it and let them splutter for a while. Then add urad dal and saute for a while or till it turn light golden in color.

Step 6

Now add asafoetida, curry leaves, grated ginger and dry red chilies. Saute for a minute.

Step 7

Further add boiled peanuts and grated coconut with salt. Mix till all the ingredients gets combine well and even.

Step 8

Cover the lid for a minute on a low flame.

Finally, your delicious peanut sundal is now ready to serve. Serve it and enjoy.
