Paneer (cottage cheese) dahi bade Recipe

Paneer Dahi Bade/ Cottage Cheese Dahi Bade

This new dahi bade recipe adds a new flavor into your boring recipe and if you are like me, who always tries to do experiment with dishes so you must go ahead and surely try this new recipe of paneer/ cottage cheese dahi bada. You can make this recipe on the special occasion or parties or small get-togethers. Your friends, children, family will surely like this. I have made this recipe by a secret ingredient, which is potato. So let’s come and know how to make this yummy recipe.

Ingredients required for making (cottage cheese) paneer dahi bade-

  • Paneer =200 grams
  • Curd =4 cups
  • Boiled potato =2
  • Green chili =1 (finely chopped)
  • Ginger =1/2 inch piece (grated)
  • Oil = for frying
  • Salt = as per taste

For serving and garnishing

  • Green chutney =1 cup
  • Sweet tamarind chutney =1 cup
  • Cumin seeds =2 teaspoon (roasted and crushed)
  • Green chili =1/2 small teaspoon (finely chopped)
  • Black pepper powder =1/2 small teaspoon
  • Black salt =as per your taste

Method for preparing (cottage cheese) paneer dahi bade-

Step 1-

Take a bowl and grate the cottage cheese (paneer).

Now mashed the potatoes and add with the grated cottage cheese (paneer). Mix them together with the help of your hands or by using spoon.

Step 2-

Now in a bowl of grated cheese and mashed potatoes, add chopped ginger, chopped green chili and salt. Mix all the ingredients along with the potato and cottage cheese mixture. Make smooth paste with the mixture.

Step 3-

Now by taking little amount of mixture, make round balls with them by rolling the mixture in your hands and then flatten the balls by pressing between your palms and set them aside.

Step 4-

Heat a deep fry pan and add oil in it.

After heating up of oil, add 2 to three cottage cheese balls into the pan and fry them on a medium flame until they start changes their color.

After 5 to 6 minutes, flip them and fry them from the other side until the color of the balls changes into golden.

Step 5-

Now take a serving plate and add 3 to 4 fried cottage cheese bade in it.

Then add curd, green chutney, sweet tamarind chutney, salt, crushed cumin seeds, black pepper powder and black salt on the top of the bade/vade

Your cottage cheese/ paneer dahi bade are ready to serve.


. You can also add raisins or other dry fruits in the middle of the cottage cheese or paneer dahi bade.

. You can also use corn flour for binding the cottage cheese/ paneer dahi bade.
