Onion Tomato Sabzi Recipe Hello everyone!! Today I am sharing a quick and easy recipe of tomato and onion. Necessary Ingredients Required For Onion Tomato Sabzi

  • Onion = 2 medium size, chopped
  • Tomato = 3 medium size, chopped
  • Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1/4 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Coriander powder = 1 tsp
  • Jaggery = 1 tsp
  • Mustard seeds = 1/3 tsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds = 1/3 tsp
  • Asafoetida = a pinch
  • Green coriander = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1/2 tsp
  • Green chilies = 1, finely chopped
  • Oil = 2 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly, take a wok, put it on a flame and add oil in it. Heat it up.

Step 2

Add asafoetida, cumin seeds and mustard seeds in it. Let the, splutter for few seconds.

Step 3

Then add chopped onions and green chilies in it and saute onions for 3 minutes.

Step 4

Now add ginger and garlic paste in it and saute till raw smell disappears from it.

Step 5

Turn the flame low and then add red chili powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder. Roast all the spices for about a minute.

Step 6

Further add chopped tomatoes, salt and give it a nice mix.

Step 7

Cover the lid and let it cook for 2 to 3 minutes on a medium to low flame.

Step 8

Add jaggery in it and give it a mix. Cover it again and turn the flame on low. Cook it for 5 minutes.

Step 9

After the mentioned time, open the lid and add garam masala powder and chopped coriander in it and mix it. Turn the flame off.

Finally, delicious onion tomato sabzi is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with paratha or chapati and enjoy.
