Onion Samosa Hey Foodiesss!! Today’s recipe is a very special street food recipe which you guys can never say no. Samosa is something which we all enjoy in our snacks time or in our tea time. No matter how full we are but once we hear the name of samosa we can’t refuse to eat. Samosa is a very famous Indian street food which we enjoy in any street or place of India. So today i am going to share the recipe of very special type of samosa which is stuffed by onion. So lets start the recipe without wasting time.

Necessary Ingredients We Required

To make samosa sheets

  • All purpose flour (maida) = 2 cups
  • Water = as required
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Salt = 1 tsp
  • Oil = 2 tsp

To make stuffing

  • Onion = 1 cup, finely chopped
  • Green chilies = 2,  finely chopped
  • Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = to taste
  • Garam masala = 1/2 tsp
  • Poha = 1/3 cup
  •  Oil = for deep frying

Method Of Making Onion Samosa

Step 1

Take a bowl, add all purpose flour, salt, oil, cumin seeds, poha and mix everything well.

Step 2

Add water gradually and knead the mixture to make smooth dough. Cover it and let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3

For making the onion stuffing, in a bowl, take onion, green chilies, poha, salt and all the spices powder.

Step 4

Mix everything well and keep it aside.

Step 5

Take the dough and divide the dough into small potions and make balls of it.

Step 6

Now take a dough ball and and roll it out into thin sheets.

Step 7

Heat a pan and place the thin sheets on it from both sides for only few seconds.

Step 8

Take the sheets out and cut it into wide rectangular strips.

Step 9

Now fold the rectangular strips into a cone shape and fill it with the onion stuffing and seal the cone edges nicely.

Step 10

Heat the oil in a deep pan, add the samosas into the hot oil and fry till they get nicely golden color from both side.

Your Onion samosa is now ready to serve. Enjoy it hot with green chutney or tamarind chutney.
