Necessary Ingredients Required For Onion Pickle Recipe
- Onion = 1 kg
- Red chili powder = 3 tsp or as per taste
- Turmeric powder = 2 tsp
- Dry mango powder = 4 tsp
- Salt = 5 tsp or as per taste
- Lemon juice = 3 tbsp
- Mustard powder = 4 tbsp
- Black salt = 1/2 tsp
- Oil = 1 cup
Instructions For Making it
Firstly peel off the onions and cut it into 4 pieces. Then in a mixing bowl, add salt and lemon juice on onions and coat them well. Keep the onion aside for about 4 hours.
After 4 hours when onion releases a lot of water, remove the water from onions and transfer the onion into a glass jar.
Then add salt, black salt, red chili powder, turmeric powder, oil, mustard powder and dry mango powder. Mix all the ingredients well till onions are coated well with spices and oil.
Add some extra oil on the top and keep it aside for 5 to 6 days so that onion gets tendered and absorbs all the flavor of spices. Keep it aside by covering it with a cloth and then a lid.
After 5 to 6 days, your onion pickle is ready to serve. Serve it with food and enjoy.
