Moong Dal Premix Recipe Hey guys today I am going to share a premix of dal. We all like moong dal halwa or ladoo right? but whenever we thouht about making halwa or ladoo, we just skip the idea of making as the process takes a lot time in making like soaking of dal overnight and then roasting it or grinding it. So today here I am sharing and instant dal premix which you can easily make and store and can use it whenever you wanna make halwa out of it. This can be store for about 2 months and you can easily consume it when you want. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Moong Dal Premix

  • Moong dal = 1 cup
  • Pure ghee = 1 tbsp
  • Cashews = 10 to 15
  • Almonds = 15
  • Raisins = 2 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly clean and wash dal well and then soak it in water overnight. On the next morning, drain off all the water from it and then put it in a siever so that the excess water gets drain off.

Step 2

In a wok or a pan, add ghee in it and add almonds, cashews and raisins in it. Roast all the dry fruits for a minute or two until they turn aromatic and golden in color.

Step 3

After roasting them, take them out from the pan and keep aside.

Step 4

Now add the soaked dal in a similar pan and roast or fry it till it turns golden and aromatic, make sure you continuously stir it otherwise it will get burn from the bottom. This process will take 10 to 15 minutes in frying.

Step 5

After frying dal, transfer it in a plate and keep it aside for cooling.

Step 6

Then add fried dal in a grinder and grind it finely, you have to grind it like semolina in consistency.

Step 7

Crush gently almonds and cashews and then mix dry fruits in grind dal and mix it well.

Step 8

Further transfer it to a airtight container and store for about a month or two.


  • Whenever you wanna make halwa from the premix, just add it to the pan and then add sugar as per your taste in it and cook till sugar completely melts and also add some milk in it for making halwa or ladoo.
