Meethe Pua Recipe | Gulgule Recipe | Sweet Pua Recipe

Meethe Pua Recipe This is one of my favorite childhood snack. This is pua or gulgule or meethe pua, I like them so much, my grandma (my dadi) used to make these for me and I can not even express in word the taste of my dadi’s handmade gulgule. They are so delicious that I hide them for myself and eat them. Basically this is a sweet recipe and children love to eat them and you can also give them to your kids in lunch box as well or can give them as a snack too. They are quick, easy and delicious. So let’s know how to make them.

Necessary Ingredients required For Meethe Pua

  • Wheat flour = 2 cups
  • Sugar or jaggery = 100 gm
  • Green cardamom powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Sesame seeds = 1 tbsp (optional)
  • Milk or water = 1 cup
  • Oil = for deeps frying

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly in a mixing bowl, sieve flour and then in a mug, add sugar and melt it by adding water in it.

Step 2

Gradually add the mixture into the flour. (basically I have used 1 and 1/2 cup of water in it but it is totally depend upon the texture and thickness of the flour, which will take less or more water while kneading the dough or making batter of it).

Step 3

Make a batter of the mixture, make sure the batter must not be too thick nor too runny, we have to make a batter of it just like pakora batter.

Step 4

Now add sesame seeds and green cardamom powder in it and mix well.

Step 5

In a pan, add oil and heat it up. Then start dropping batter in it by using spoon or hands as well just like we make pakora.

Step 6

Fry the pua on medium flame till they turn golden in color. Flip them in between so that they must not burn.

Step 7

After frying them, shake off the excess oil and then put them to the absorbing paper so that excess oil will remove from it.

Finally, your delicious meethe malpua are now ready to serve. Serve them as a snack and enjoy.
