Masala Puri is a breakfast recipe which is different from the normal puri. This masala puri contains a lot of spices and potato and onions which makes it more tastier than the normal and any other puri. This is such an amazing recipe of puri as it is crispy and spicy. Necessary Ingredients Required For Masala Puri
- Wheat flour = 2 cups
- Gram flour or besan = 1 cup
- Potatoes = 5, boiled and grated
- Red chili powder = 1 tsp
- Asafoetida or hing = 1/4 tsp
- Carom seeds or ajwain = 1 tsp
- Chaat masala = 1 tsp
- Onion = 1, large size, finely chopped
- Dry fenugreek leaves or kasuri methi = 2 tsp
- Ghee = 3 tbsp, melted, for kneading dough
- Oil = for frying
How To Make It In Easy Steps
Take a large bowl, add wheat flour and gram flour in it. Mix them well.
Now add red chili powder, chaat masala, carom seeds, asafoetida, salt, dry fenugreek leaves, onion and boiled and grated potatoes.
Mix all the ingredients well. For kneading this dough, we have not use water. We are going to use ghee.
Now Gradually add ghee and mix all the ingredients well so that dough is kneaded.
Knead a hard dough from the mixture.
Now take small portion from dough and divide all the portions into equal parts.
Roll a portion on your hand and then flatten it.
Roll it with the help of rolling pin or belan. make a flat round shape from it and keep it aside.
Make all the puri with the similar method.
Take a kadai, pour oil in it and heat it up.
Now add puri one by one and fry them until they turn golden brown in color. Flip it occasionally.
Keep it aside on a paper towel to drain its excess oil.
Fry all the puri with the similar process.
Your masala puri is ready to serve. Serve them hot with chutney or raita.
