Buttermilk or chaas/chaach is a fermented dairy drink. Traditionally it was the liquid left behind after churning butter out of cultured cream. Most of the people consume it after a meal as it is a good source for digesting food. you can also buy it from the market but I always make it at home because i know what ingredients I have added in it. Today we are going to make masala chaas by adding spices in it and make it more flavorful. Let’s know how to make masala chaas.
Required ingredients for masala chaas-
- Curd = 250 gm
- Ginger = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Green chili = 1, finely chopped
- Mint leaves = 1 cup
- Cilantro / coriander leaves = 2 tbsp
- Sugar = 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds powder = 1 tsp
- Black salt = 1/2 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Ice cubes = 7 to 8 cubes
How to make spiced buttermilk
For making masala chaas, Take a mixer jar and add chopped ginger, green chili, mint leaves, cilantro/ coriander leaves, sugar and 1/2 cup of water.
Make a fine juice from the ingredients of buttermilk.
Now add cumin seeds powder, salt and black salt in the jar. Also add ice cubes and mix 1 more time.
Now add curd and mix it in a mixer for ones a while.
Add 2 cups of water in the curd and run the mixer for 15 to 20 seconds.
Now our spiced buttermilk is ready.
Serve it in a glass and add some more ice cubes in it.
