Luqaimat Recipe Today I am sharing the popular Arabian dumplings recipe which is known as luqaimat. These are fried dumplings which are crunchy from outside and juicy and soft from inside. This is a popular dessert in middle eastern countries, this is made with all purpose flour batter which is then fried and then soaked in sugar syrup. The method of making this authentic dessert dumplings is really easy, you can easily make them at home. Let’s know how to make them.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Luqaimat Recipe

  • All purpose flour = 1.5 cup
  • Corn flour = 2 tbsp
  • Yeast = 1.5 tsp
  • Oil = 2 tbsp
  • Yogurt = 3 tbsp
  • Luke warm Water = 1 cup
  • Sugar = 500 gm
  • Lemon juice = 1 tbsp
  • Water = 1.5 cup for sugar syrup
  • Vanilla essence = 1 tsp
  • Ghee = for deep frying
  • Sesame Seeds = 1tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

In a mixing bowl, add all purpose flour, yeast, curd, 2 tbsp of oil and corn flour. Mix all the ingredients well.

Step 2

Now gradually add lukewarm water in it and make a lumps free batter with the mixture.

Step 3

Beat it well to remove its all lumps and keep it aside for 1 hour by covering it.

Step 4

Till the batter is rest, let’s make sugar syrup. In a pan, add water and sugar in it and mix it till sugar completely dissolves in it.

Step 5

Further add lemon juice in it and boil it again. We have to make one string syrup.

Step 6

For checking the string, fall few drops of syrup in a bowl and check with fingers that it makes one string in it. Turn the flame off and add vanilla essence in it and mix it well. Keep it aside.

Step 7

After an hour, beat the all purpose flour batter one more time.

Step 8

Take a wok add ghee in it and heat it up.

Step 9

Take a small portion from the batter and drop it to heating oil, turn the flame medium to low and continue to stir it. Do not over crowd the wok.

Step 10

Continue to stir it as they are very light in weight so there are more chances of burning. Make sure you flip them continuously so that they will be fried from all the side. Fry them till a beautiful golden brown color appears on them.

Step 11

Then add these fried balls into the light warm sugar syrup and let them soak for 8 to 10 minutes.

Step 12

Make all the sweet with the similar process and then serve them in a plate.

Finally, your luqaimat are ready to serve. Sprinkle some sesame seeds and enjoy.
