Lobia Chaat Recipe | Delicious And Spicy Black Eyed Pea Chaat

Lobia Chaat Recipe This is really a delicious, full of protein lobia chaat recipe. It can be served at the time of snacks which gives you more protein and energy than the other oily junk foods. Also this spicy chaat can be served in breakfast. There are many variants for making this chaat but I like to keep it simple. I am not adding any tempering in it so that it stays healthy. Let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Lobia Chaat Recipe

  • Black eyed pea (lobia) = 1/2 cup, soaked whole night
  • Onion = 2 medium size, chopped in fine cubes
  • Tomato = 2, medium size, finely chopped
  • Coriander/cilantro/parsley = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Green chili = 2. finely chopped
  • Tamarind chutney = 3 tbsp
  • Chaat masala powder = 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Radish = 2 tbsp, grated (optional)
  • Baking soda = a pinch
  • Water = as required for boiling

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly take a pressure cooker, add soaked lobia in it and then add a glass of water with some salt and baking soda in it.

Step 2

Let it cook till one whistle by covering the lid. Then turn the flame low and cook it for 10 to 12 minutes on a low flame.

Step 3

Once they are cooked well and tendered. Turn the flame off and strain all the water from them.

Step 4

Transfer the, to a mixing bowl.

Step 5

Till then finely chop all the other ingredients like onion, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander.

Step 6

Now add these chopped veggies to the boiled lobia. Mix all the ingredients well.

Step 7

Further add salt, chaat masala powder, red chili powder, tamarind chutney and mix well. (you can also use lemon juice instead of tamarind chutney).

Step 8

Mix all the ingredients well to combine all things even.

Finally, top it with some grated radish and serve.
