Necessary Ingredients Required For Lemon Tea Cake
- Lemon juice = 2 tbsp
- Lemon zest = 1 tsp
- Powdered Sugar = 1 cup
- All purpose flour = 2 cups
- Vanilla essence = 1/2 tsp
- Milk = 3/4 cup
- Hung curd/thick curd = 1/2 cup
- Soft butter/ melted butter = 1/4 cup
- Baking powder = 1.5 tsp
- Baking soda = 1/2 tsp
- Yellow food color = few drops
Instructions For Making It
Firstly for making lemon zest, take a lemon and gently grate it and the peel which grate is lemon zest. Keep it aside.
In a mixing bowl, add sieved fine flour, baking soda, baking powder and mix well.
In another bowl, add soft butter and whisk it well, then add powdered sugar and again whisk it till it becomes soften and creamy smooth in texture.
Further add lemon juice, lemon zest and vanilla extract. Along with them, add curd and vanill essence and yellow food color.
Mix all the ingredients well or you can whisk it as well.
Now pour this creamy mixture to the fine flour and mix well.
Gradually add milk in it and make batter from it. Make sure batter must not be too thick nor too thin.
Now take a mould, grease it with butter and then line it with butter paper.
Pre heat the oven at 180 degree celsius for 10 minutes.
Pour the prepared batter to the greased and lined mould and tap it to make it even.
Put it to the oven and bake the cake for about 10 to 12 minutes at 180 degree celsius.
Till cake is baked, let’s make its glaze. For that, take 1/3 cup of sugar and 1 tbsp of lemon juice. Mix well till sugar completely melts in it.
Once the cake baked, take it out from the oven and demould it.
Pour the prepared lemon glaze on it and serve.
Finally, your delicious lemon tea cake is now ready to serve. Serve it with tea and enjoy.
