Lemon Pickle Recipe Hey guys!!! Welcome back to the zayka recipes kitchen. Today I am sharing the most delicious pickle recipe. Pickle is basically sour but this one is going to be sweet and sour both flavors at a time. This pickle also helps in digestion and makes your immune system stronger as well. The best thing which I like about this recipe is that you can easily store it for about 1 year as this does not gets spoil faster. So let’s know how to make it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Lemon Pickle
- Lemon = 12 or 500 gm
- Jaggery (gud) = 600 gm
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder = 1 tsp
- Salt = 3 tbsp
- Green cardamom = 5 or 1/4 tsp powder
- Black salt = 2 tsp
- Ginger powder = 1 tsp
Instructions For Making It
Firstly for making this pickle, you have to buy thin peel lemons and fresh. Wash lemons well and then pat dry them.
Then chop lemon into halves and then quarter, that mean you have to cut a lemon into four pieces.
By using knife, remove all the seeds from the lemon and then transfer these lemons into a jar or a container with 3 tbsp of salt and mix well.
Now cover the lid and put this jar into sunlight for about 15 to 20 days. Make sure that in every 2 to 3 days, stir the lemons upside down.
After 15 to 20 days the lemon peels becomes soft. Now let’s make jaggery syrup.
In a pan, add 1/2 cup of water and jaggery in it and mix it till jaggery melts in water.
Add cardamom powder, red chili powder, ginger powder, black salt and lemon slices in it and cook it till jaggery becomes thick in consistency. (We are not going to use the water of lemon, so drain it off).
Stir it continuously otherwise it will get burn from bottom.
Once the mixture turns thick in consistency, turn the flame off.
Finally, your delicious lemon pickle is now ready, serve it once it cools down. You can store this pickle up to 1 year.
