Layali Lubnan Recipe | Lebanese Nights | Arabian Dessert

Layali Lubnan Recipe This is a middle east popular dessert which is also known or translated as Lebanese nights. It is made with milk and semolina and topping with the milk pudding. Garnished with the chopped pistachios is the delicious dessert recipe which you can easily make at home. This can be served as a sweet dish or as dessert as well for the parties. You can easily make it at home. The rich creamy and smooth texture of this pudding makes your mouth watering. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Layali Lubnan

  • Milk = 5 cups + 2 cups
  • Semolina = 1 cup
  • Rose water = 3 tsp
  • Vanilla essence = 1 tsp
  • Sugar = 1+1/4 cup + 3 tbsp
  • Corn flour = 3 tbsp
  • Fresh cream = 1+1/4 cup
  • Khoya = 1/2 cup
  • Pistachios = 5 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Almonds = 1 tbsp, finely chopped

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly in a pan, add 5 cups of milk and semolina and mix well to make it lumps free. Put it on a flame and then add half sugar in it. Cook it on a medium flame by continuously stirring it till it turns into a thick mixture.

Step 2

Once it turns into a thick paste, add vanilla essence and rose water and mix well. Turn the flame off.

Step 3

Take a deep serving dish in which you are going to freeze it, add the prepared mixture to it and spread it evenly so that it should firm. Keep it aside. Put it in a refrigerator.

Step 4

In other pan, add the remaining sugar and add 3/4 cup of water in it. Continue to stir it till it dissolves in it and also add some rose water in it. Mix well and turn the flame off. Keep aside.

Step 5

In a pan, add 1/2 litre milk and bring it to a boil. After a boil, turn the flame medium and add 3 tbsp of sugar in it and stir it.

Step 6

Further add a slurry of corn flour and mix well by continuously stirring it till it turn thick.

Step 7

Then add khoya in it and mix well. Once the mixture turns thick, turn the flame off and few drops of rose water. Mix it well and then put it aside for cooling at room temperature and then put it to a refrigerator.

Step 8

Now in a mixing bowl, add cream in it and whisk it till soft peaks form in it. Then add this to the prepared corn flour and milk mixture, mix it well.

Step 9

Further pour this mixture to the semolina mixture and spread it even.

Step 10

Finally, garnish it with some chopped pistachios and almonds.

Your delicious layali lubnan is now ready. Serve it chilled and enjoy.
