Lapsi Recipe This is a traditional gujarati recipe which is really healthy and delicious in taste.You can serve it at breakfast as it gives many proteins and energy and keeps full for the longer period. It is an easy and quick recipe which you can quickly make in breakfast and a busy mornings though. So let’s know how to make this delicious lapsi recipe.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Lapsi Recipe
- Broken wheat (daliya) = 1 cup
- Cardamom = 3 pods
- Cloves = 2
- Cinnamon stick = 1 inch piece
- Ghee = 5 tbsp
- Water = 4 cups
- Jaggery = 1/2 cup or as per taste
- Cashews = 4 tbsp, chopped
- Almonds = 4 tbsp, chopped
- Raisins = 3 tbsp
- Pistachios 2 tbsp, chopped
- Green cardamom powder = 1/2 tsp
- Saffron = few strands
Instructions For Making It
Firstly, in a pressure cooker, add 5 tbsp of ghee and heat it up.
Then add cinnamon stick, cardamom pods and cloves. Saute for few seconds or till they turn aromatic.
Now add broken wheat (daliya) in it and saute well until it turns golden in color.
Add 4 cups hot water in it and cover the lid. Let it cook until 5 whistles or until daliya cooked well.
After 5 whistles, release the pressure and open the lid, add jaggery and 1 cup water more in it. Mix well and cook it till jaggery completely melts in it.
Now cook it for 5 to 8 minutes or till the mixture turns thick in consistency.
In a separate pan, add 2 tbsp of ghee and heat it up.
Further add chopped cashews, almonds, pistachios and raisins in it. Saute for a while on a medium to low flame.
Roast them till nuts turn golden or aromatic. Add green cardamom powder in it and mix well. Turn the flame off. Pour this tadka or nuts in the prepared mixture. Mix well and turn the flame off.
