Kuttu Ke Pakode, Navratri Special | How to Make Buckwheat Fritters

Kuttu ke pakode or vrat ke pakode are deep fried fritters which are mostly made in navratri for vrat. As we all know that navratri are begin, so in these days, most of the people fasts. So this kuttu ke pakode is perfect for your vrat. These fritters are easily made by adding boiled potatoes in buckwheat flour. Talking about its taste, the taste is amazing. Now let’s know about its consistency. The batter of this pakoda is made thick because if added lots of water, the pakodas should not make well. Although they consume lot of oil in themselves. So the consistency of its batter must be thick in a way that you can easily make pakodas with them. They have a soft and melt in texture from inside. They are different from the besan pakoras or gram flour. So let’s know the easy and simple recipe.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Kuttu Ke Pakode

  • Buckwheat (kuttu) flour = 1 cup
  • Potato  = 4, boiled, cut in small cubes
  • Coriander leaves = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Green chilies = 3, finely chopped
  • Chaat masala = 1.5 tsp
  • Ghee = for frying
  • Rock salt or sendha namak = as per taste

How to Make It in Easy Steps

Step 1

Sieve the flour and then take a bowl, add buckwheat flour in it.

Step 2

In a flour, add boiled potatoes, green chilies, coriander, rock salt, chaat masala an water as required.

Step 3

Mix all the ingredients well and remember that flour must not get too wet.

Step 4

Take a wok or kadai, add ghee in it and heat it up.

Step 5

After ghee gets heated, add mixture in small portions. Do not over crowd it.

Step 6

Fry fritters on a medium flame until they turn crispier or gets golden brown color.

Step 7

Take them off in a serving plate and make all the fritters like the mentioned process.

Now your kuttu ke pakode are ready to serve. Serve them hot with coriander chutney.
