Jeera Rice Recipe – 2 perfect ways for jeera rice

Jeera rice is an Indian dish consisting of rice and cumin seeds. It is an everyday popular rice dish which is make in everyday meal. But some people does not make the perfect rice as they did not know the perfect way of making it. So here I am going to share 2 ways for making rice.

  2. In pressure cooker

1.Necessary ingredients required for jeera rice in pan-

  • Basmati rice = 2 cups, soaked for 30 minutes
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Water = 4 cups
  • Ghee = 2 tbsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped

Method of making-

Step 1

Take a pan, add soaked rice in it. Add 4 cups of water and then boil it for 8 to 10 minutes without covering it.

Step 2

After 10 minutes, drain the excess water and rinse the boiled rise with cold water.

Step 3

Take a large size plate and spread rice on it.

Step 4

Now take a pan, pour ghee in it and heat it up. Add cumin seeds in it and let it crackle until aroma comes.

Step 5

After few seconds, add boiled rice in a pan and stir it with cumin. Add chopped coriander and salt in rice and mix it.

Mix it in a way that rice should not break.

Your jeera rice in pan is ready.

2. Necessary ingredients required for jeera rice in Cooker-

  • Basmati rice = 2 cups, soaked for 30 minutes
  • Water = 1 cup
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Ghee = 1 tbsp
  • Coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Salt = 1 tsp or as per taste

Process to make-

Step 1

Heat a pressure cooker, pour ghee in it and add cumin seeds for crackling.

Step 2

Now add soaked rice in cooker and mix it well with cumin seeds.

Step 3

After 2 minutes, add water, salt and chopped coriander in cooker, give it a stir and take a boil in it.

Step 4

After a boil, cover the lid of pressure cooker and let it cook.

Step 5

After one whistle, turn off the flame and serve the rice.

Jeera rice in pressure cooker is ready.

Serve it hot with dal or raita.
