Jackfruit Seeds Sabzi Recipe Jackfruit or kathal is the vegetable which I cannot deny. Today I am sharing the dish which is make with the kathal beej that is jackfruit seeds sabzi, this comes out really good in taste. The tendered and soft seeds, coated with delicious spices makes my mouth watering already. If you also love jack fruit like me, then go for this recipe, you will surely like it. Necessary Ingredients Required Jackfruit Seeds Sabzi

  • Jackfruit seeds = 250 gm
  • Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder = 1 tsp
  • Dry mango powder = 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Green coriander = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Tomato = 1, chopped
  • Asafoetida = 2 pinch
  • Cumin seeds = 1/2 tsp
  • Green chili paste = 1 tsp
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece, grated
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Oil = 3 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Firstly wash all the seeds well and then transfer them to a pressure cooker with 1 cup of water in it. Cover the lid and cook them till 1 whistle.

Step 2

After a whistle, turn the flame off and take them out from the pressure cooker, keep them aside for cooling.

Step 3

Once they cools completely, remove their skins and cut them into 2 pieces.

Step 4

Make a paste of green chilies and also grate ginger. Set aside.

Step 5

Now take a pan, add oil in it and heat it up. Then add cumin seeds and asafoetida in it and let them splutter for a while. Add chopped tomato, green chili paste and ginger in it and cook them till tomati turns mushy and soft.

Step 6

Further add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chili powder, salt and mix well till they perfectly cooked.

Step 7

Add a dash of water so that spices must not burn. Then add boiled seeds in it and mix well, add dry mango powder, garam masala powder and mix well. Cover the lid and cook for 2 minutes on a low flame.

Finally, after 2 minutes, add some chopped coriander and mix it. Your delicious jackfruit seeds sabzi is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with paratha or chapati and enjoy.
