Green chilli pickle or hari mirch ka achar goes very well with Indian meal. When you eat green chilli pickle with any meal, then it increases the sensitivity of our taste buds and those who loves spicy food then it surely goes well for them. So let’s know how to make this easy yet spicy green chilli pickle at home.
Required ingredients for green chilli pickle
- Serrano pepper (Indian achari hari mirch) = 250 gm
- Mustard seeds = 4 tbsp
- Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
- Fennel seeds (saunf) = 1 tsp
- Salt = 3 tsp
- Turmeric powder = 1 tsp
- Fenugreek seeds = 1 tsp
- Asafoetida = 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala = 1 tsp
- Mustard oil = 4 tbsp
Procedure to make green chilli pickle
Wash the chillies well and then let it dry with a towel.
Now remove the crown of chillies and make a cut in the chili but remember that it should not be slit completely.
Take a pan and heat it up. Now put all the ingredients in it (fennel seeds, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, ) in a pan and roast them for 2 to 3 minutes by stirring it.
After cooling of roasted spices, take a mixer jar and pour the spices in it. Make a granulated powder from it.
Now take a bowl and put all the granulated spices in it, also add salt, turmeric powder, garam masala powder in it.
Mix all the spices well.
Now heat a pan and pour mustard oil in it. Heat the oil well because we have to vanish its raw smell.
After some cooling of oil, add asafoetida in it.
Now in roasted powder, add lemon juice and mustard oil in it. Mix it well.
Now take a chili and stuff masala in it. Do it with all the chilies.
Take a jar and put all the stuffed chilies in it. Also add the remaining oil or masala in the jar.
Take a thin or muslin cloth and cover the jar by it.
Keep it in sunshine for 2 to 3 days.
Now your chili pickle is ready.
