Falafel Recipe These are flat deep fried balls or flat shapes made from chickpeas, spices, and other herbs. So today I am making these falafel, they are very simple and easy in making yet really really delicious in taste. When your are hungry and wanted to eat something delicious within very less time, this recipe goes perfect for your hunger. Also you can serve them as a starter in parties and can be serve as a snack as well. Let’s know how to make them.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Making Falafel
- Chickpeas = 1.5 cups
- Spring onion greens = 10, chopped
- Garlic = 3 tbsp, finely chopped
- Coriander leaves = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Baking Soda = a pinch
- Green chilies = 2, finely chopped
- Salt = as per taste
- Oil = for frying
- Black pepper powder = 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder = 1/2 tsp
- Bread crumbs = 1 cup
Instructions For Making It
Firstly, wash chickpea well and soak them in water for 4 hours.
Now after 4 hours, drain all the water from it and put it in a grinder jar.
Also Add green chilies, garlic cloves, spring onion greens and coiander.
Grind them well without adding any water.
Now transfer them in a mixing bowl. Add red chili powder, black pepper powder, salt, cumin powder and baking soda. Mix all the ingredients well.
Further add bread crumbs in it and mix it so that it turns into a binding consistency.
In a pan, add oil and heat it up.
Till oil is heated, take a portion from the mixture, round it over your palms and make a round ball of it. Now slightly flatten it between your palms.
Make all the shapes with the similar process and keep them aside.
Add them in a pan for frying and fry them till a beautiful golden brown in color.
Flip them when they fried from one side and then turn it to fry it from the other side.
After frying, drain all excess oil and transfer them to a serving plate.
Finally, your falafel are now ready to serve. Serve them hot with sauce and enjoy.
