Dal Bukhara Recipe- Hey foodies!! welcome back to the zayka recipes kitchen. Hope you all doing well. Today I am going to make dal bukhara which is not less than the dal makhani. This urad dal recipe is really lip smacking and craving you for it. When you are in a mood to eat tasty dish, then you should make it and try it. I am pretty sure that you must like this recipe. This recipe is very easy and also healthy because I am making it in a very less oil. This restaurant style dal will surely like by your family and friends. Let’s know how to make it.

 Necessary Ingredients Required For Dal Bukhara

  • Whole black gram or urad = 1 cup
  • Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Asafoetida = 1 tsp
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1tbsp
  • Tomato puree = 1 cup
  • Red chili powder = 1 tbsp
  • Coriander powder = 1 tbsp
  • Garam masala = 1 tsp
  • Dry fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi) = 1/2 tsp
  • Fresh cream = 4 tbsp
  • Onion paste = 2 tbsp
  • Oil = 1 tbsp
  • Water = 2 cups

How to Make it

Step 1

Wash dal for 3 to 4 times and soaked in water for 6 hours.

Step 2

Now take a pressure cooker, pour soaked dal and water in it. Add a salt as per taste and a pinch of turmeric powder.

Step 3

Cover the lid and let it cook for 3 to 4 whistle.

Step 4

Now mash dal with a help of spoon and keep it aside.

Step 5

Now take a pan, pour oil in it and add cumin seeds and asafoetida in it. Let them crackle for few seconds.

Step 6

Now add ginger and garlic paste and Onion puree. Saute them for 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 7

Now add tomato puree in it and cook it until oil starts separating from it. Then add red chili powder and coriander powder and mix it for 2 minutes.

Step 8

Then add cooked urad in gravy and mix it well. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes and also add water if required.

Step 9

Add garam masala and dry fenugreek leaves, give it a stir.

Now your dal bukhara is ready.

Serve it hot by garnishing with fresh cream or butter.

Serve it with naan or jeera rice.
