Dahi phulki recipe is different from dahi vada as the reason for change is there ingredients. Dahi phulki is a lighter food than dahi vada. It is made up of gram flour fritter which are then soaked in water or directly in curd. This is such a tasty recipe which I have mostly made at my home in afternoon. This recipe needs no accompaniment or you can also have it with rice. I prefer to have it as itself as it taste soo good. This is very famous in Delhi. Let’s know how to make it at home.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Dahi Phulki
- Gram flour = 100 gm
- Curd or yogurt = 500 gm
- Onion = 1, finely chopped
- Green chilies = 2, finely chopped
- Green coriander = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
- Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
- Baking powder = 2 pinch
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Rock salt = as per taste
- Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
- Oil = for frying
- Dry whole red chilies = 5
- Garlic = 10 to 12 cloves
- Salt = as per taste
Method Of Making In Easy Steps
For making phulki or pakodi
Take a bowl, add gram flour in it.
Add chopped onion, green chilies, green coriander, red chili powder, turmeric powder, baking soda and salt. Mix all the ingredients with gram flour.
Now gradually add water and mix it well for making a thick batter from it. Keep it aside for 1o to 15 minutes.
Now take a blender jar, add curd in it and blend it.
Transfer it in a bowl.
For making chutney, take a jar, add soaked red chilies, salt and garlic. Make a fine paste from it.
Add a spoon of chutney in a curd and mix it well. Keep it aside.
Take a pan, pour oil in it and heat it up.
Mix batter one more time and now with the help of your hand or spoon, pour small portion of batter in oil and make small balls of pakodi in it.
Fry it until it turn golden brown in color. Also flip it if necessary.
Now add fried pakodi in a mixture of curd and make all the phulki or pakodi with the similar process.
Take a tadka pan, add oil in it and heat it up. Add cumin seeds in it and let them splutter for few seconds.
Give temper to dahi. Keep this dahi phulki aside for 1 hour, so that phulki becomes soft.
Now your dahi phulki are ready, serve it with rice or as itself.
