Cream Of Mushroom Soup Recipe | How To Make Mushroom Soup

Cream Of Mushroom Soup is a simple type of soup, where mushroom’s gravy is thickened with cream milk and flour. It is also available in supermarkets but today I am going to make it at home with some basic ingredients and in a very easy way. This is really a lip smacking soup and the flavor of parsley makes it more yummy. Let’s know how to make it at home.

Ingredients Required For Cream Of Mushroom Soup

  • Button mushrooms = 250 gm
  • Onion = 2, small size, finely chopped
  • Garlic = 4 to 5 cloves, finely chopped
  • Full fat milk = 1.5 cup
  • Bay leaf = 1
  • Water = 1.5 cup
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Coriander leaves = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Crushed black pepper = 1 tsp or as per taste
  • Fresh Cream = 1/2 cup
  • All purpose flour = 1.5 tbsp
  • Butter = 2.5 tbsp

How To Make It Easily

Step 1

Take a pan, add butter in it and let it melt.

Step 2

Now add bay leaf and saute it until its aroma comes in butter and then add chopped onions and garlic.

Step 3

Saute onions until they turn translucent and then add sliced or chopped mushrooms. Saute mushrooms till they start releasing water.

Step 4

Continue saute the mushrooms until its water dries up and mushroom becomes golden in color.

Step 5

Now add flour and saute it for 4 to 5 minutes on a low to medium flame, until its aroma disappear.

Step 6

Add crushed pepper and salt, and then gradually add water and then milk. Continuously stir it.

Step 7

On a low to medium flame, let the soup becomes thicken and stir it occasionally.

Step 8

In soup, add fresh cream and simmer the flame, let it cook for 2 minutes.

Step 9

Now finally add chopped coriander leaves and stir it.

Transfer it in a serving bowl and here you are good to go.
