Coconut Chutney is a South-Indian recipe which is very well goes with the idli, dosa or vada. This coconut chutney is served with most of the south-Indian food as it is originated from their. Now a days, all over the parts of India, this chutney is served with food. The flavor of coconut and the tempering makes it more tastier than the other chutneys. Let’s know the perfect method to make it.
Necessary ingredients required for coconut chutney-
- Coconut = 1.5 cup, grated
- Roasted gram dal or chana dal = 2.5 tbsp
- Coriander leaves = 1 tsp
- mint leaves = 1 tsp
- Ginger = 1 inch piece
- Garlic = 2 cloves
- Salt = as per taste
- Green chilies = 3
- Water = 1/2 cup
- Tamarind or imli = 2 pieces, seedless
- Oil = 3 tsp
- Mustard or raayi = 1 tsp
- Urad dal = 1 tsp
- Curry leaves = 4 to 5 leaves
- Dry Red chili = 3
Method of making step by step-
Take a blender jar, add all the ingredients like grated coconut, roasted gram pulse, coriander leaves, garlic, ginger, mint leaves, salt, tamarind and green chilies and water.
Blend them into a smooth paste.
Now transfer it in a bowl.
Take a tadka pan, add oil in it and heat it up.
Now add mustard and urad dal in oil. Splutter it for few seconds.
Add curry leaves and dry red chilies. Saute them for few seconds and them give tempring of this to the chutney.
Your coconut chutney is ready to serve.
