Chili Potato Recipe | How to Make Restaurant Style Chili Potato

Chili potato recipe- Chili potato is an Indo-Chinese recipe which is very popular in many countries. You always going out to try this recipe in restaurants, but have you ever tried it at home? If no, then I am going to share this starter recipe for you. It is slightly spicy, sweet and sour chili sauce, in which potato are tossed and crispier.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Making Chili Potato

Potato = 4 medium size

To Make Batter

  • Corn flour = 1/2 cup
  • Fine flour or maida = 1/4 cup
  • Salt = 1/4 tsp
  • Red chili  powder = 1 tsp
  • Black pepper powder = 1 tsp
  • Water = as required

To Make Sauce

  • Oil = 1 tbsp
  • Garlic = 1 tbsp (chopped)
  • Ginger = 1 tbsp (finely chopped)
  • Onion = 1 cup ( finely chopped)
  • Capsicum = 1/2  cup (finely chopped)
  • Spring onion greens = 1/2 cup
  • Coriander leaves =  1/2 tbsp
  • Soya sauce = 2 tbsp
  • Red chili sauce = 1 tbsp
  • Green chili sauce = 1 tbsp
  • Tomato ketchup = 2 tbsp
  • White vinegar = 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 1 tsp
  • Salt = according  to your taste
  • Water = as required
  • Corn flour = 1 tbsp

Method For Preparing Chili Potato

Step 1

Cut the potatoes into small wedges in a bowl

Step 2

Now add cornflour, maida, salt, black pepper powder, red chili powder and mix it well.

Step 3

Add water gradually into the mixture and make a fine batter.

Step 4

Now dip the wedges into the batter.

Step 5

After this, deep fry the potato wedges till they turn golden brown in color  and keep them aside.

Step 6

Now heat a pan and add 1 tbsp of oil in it.

Step 7

After heating the oil,add chopped garlic,ginger and saute.

Step 8

Now add onion and capsicum and saute them for 2-3 minutes till they became soft.

Step 9

Add soya sauce,red chili sauce,green chili sauce,tomato ketchup,red chili powder and bring it to a boil.

Step 10

After bring a boil,add salt and cook it for few minutes.

Step 11

Now add corn flour in a small bowl with water and prepare a mixture of it.

Step 12

Add the corn flour mixture in the sauce and bring a boil.

Step 13

At last,add the fried potato wedges and mix well.

Step 14

Garnish it with some spring onion greens and coriander leaves.
