Chicken Shami Kabab Recipe | How to Make Chicken Shami Kabab

Shami kabab or shaami kabab is a local variety of kabab, originating from the Indian. This chicken shami kabab is really good in taste. When it comes to starters, shami kabab is one of the best non-vegetarian snacks to be served. These  kabab are made with minced meat of chicken and by add gram pulse or chana dal, ground spices and other ingredients. Necessary Ingredients Required For Chicken Shami Kabab

  • Boneless chicken = 750 gm
  • Gram pulse or chana dal = 1 cup
  • Dry red chilies = 6 to 7
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Cloves = 3 to 4
  • pepper corns = 5 to 6
  • Bay leaf = 2
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Black cardamom = 1
  • Garlic = 8 to 10 cloves
  • Onion = 1, large size, finely diced chopped
  • Green chilies = 3 to 4, finely chopped
  • Green coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Oil = for frying
  • Water = 1/2 cup

Procedure of Making Kababs in Simple Steps

Step 1

Take a pressure cooker, add boneless chicken in it and then add gram pulse or chana dal in it.

Step 2

Also add all the ingredients like, garlic, bay leaf, cumin seeds, salt, green cardamom, black cardamom, cloves, pepper corns and dry red chilies.

Step 3

Add 1 cup of water in it and mix it well. Put this pressure cooker on a flame and cover the lid. Cook it for about 30 minutes or until chicken and chana dal gets tender.

Step 4

After the mentioned time, open the lid and check, If water is in it then dry the excess water by open lid.

Step 5

Remove bay leaf from it.

Step 6

Now take a blender jar, add this mixture in it and blend it.

Do not use water in it.

Step 7

Make the mixture blend, neither too soft nor too hard.

Step 8

Now in a blended mixture, add chopped onion, green chilies and chopped coriander in it.

Step 9

Mix all the things well and then take a portion from it, make a ball on your palms.

Step 10

After making a ball, flatten it by pressing it with your hands and keep it aside.

Step 11

With the same procedure, make all the kababs from the mixture.

Step 12

Take a pan, pour oil in it and shallow fry the kababs from both the sides until they turn into light golden in color.

Fry all the kabas.

Now your chicken shami kababs are ready. Serve them hot with green chutney, sliced onion and lemon.
