Chicken Momos Recipe Dumplings or dimsum or momos are a most popular street food in India. Almost all ages of people like to eat them and today I am going to share its recipe. Chicken momos are my favorite in street foods. Though it take a lot of time in making and needs much effort and patience and when we talk about its taste, it is just yummm. My mouth already starts watering, so let’s know how to make them at home in street style.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Chicken Momos
For The Dough
- All purpose flour or maida = 2 cups
- Salt = as per taste
- Water = as required for kneading the dough
For Stuffing
- Chicken = 300 gm, boneless and minced (boiled)
- Onion = 1 cup, finely chopped
- Garlic = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Ginger = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
- Soy sauce = 3 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Green chilies = 2, finely chopped
- Black pepper powder = 1/2 tbsp
- Oil = 1 tbsp
Instructions For Making Steamed Chicken Dumplings
Step 1
Take a mixing bowl, add flour in it and also add salt and water, mix them well and and when it looks crumbly, knead a stiff dough from it.
Step 2
Keep this dough aside and cover it with a wet cloth so that it should not dry.
Step 3
Now we are going to make its stuffing. For that, take a pan add oil in it and then add chopped onions and saute them for few seconds.
Step 4
Add chopped green chilies, ginger and garlic. Mix them well.
Step 5
Saute for 4 to 5 minutes and after that, add boiled chicken minced in it.
Step 6
Mix it well till all the things combined.
Step 7
Turn the flame off and then add salt, black pepper powder and mix it well. Remember that soy sauce also contain salt, so be careful while adding salt in stuffing.
Step 8
After 20 minutes of kneading the dough, divide the dough into equal small portions.
Step 9
Take a portion and roll it into a ball and then using rolling pin, roll it in a thinly circular shape.
Step 10
Now take a disk wet its wedges and place a full tablespoon of filling in the center.
Step 11
Wet its sides with water and bring the wedges together to cover the filling.
Step 12
Make all the momos with the similar process.
Step 13
Take a momos or dumplings steamer, fill water in it and keep it for boiling.
Step 14
Arrange the momos on the steamer and then cover the lid. Steam them for about 20 minutes.
Now your momos are ready. Serve them hot with red chutney or momos chutney.
