Chana Palak Recipe Hey guys!!! Hope you all re doing well. Today I am going to make a super delicious lunch recipe which is absolutely perfect for having with chapati or puri or rice as well. At lunch time I usually like to have rice in my diet so I like this recipe with rice. Also this is a quick and easy recipe, the only thing which takes time is soaking those chickpeas so that they rice and boiled well and becomes soft. So let’s know how to make it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Chana Palak Recipe
- Spinach = 1 kg
- Kabuli chana (chickpea) = 180 gm or 1 cup, soaked
- Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
- Coriander powder = 1 tbsp
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Tomato = 250 gm
- Green chili = 2
- Ginger = 1 inch piece
- Oil = 2 tbsp
- Cumin seeds = 1/2 tsp
- Garam masala powder = 1/4 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Green coriander = 1 tbsp, finely chopped
Instructions For Making It
Firstly clean and wash chickpea well and then soak them in water for about 10 to 12 hours or about overnight.
Now clean and remove spinach leaves separately from its stem and then wash the leaves well in water.
Now finely chop the spinach well and also chop the tomatoes roughly.
Add chopped tomatoes to the blender jar and also add green chilies and ginger in it. Blend them into a fine puree or paste. Keep this paste aside.
Now add soaked chickpea in pressure cooker and also add 1/2 cup of water in it. Cover the lid and let it take a whistle. After a whistle, turn the flame low and cook it till it take 3 to 5 whistles.
In a wok, add oil and heat it up. Then add cumin seeds and asafoetida in it and let them splutter for a while.
Now add coriander powder and turmeric powder in it and mix them well. Later add prepared paste in it and cook it for a while.
Also add ginger garlic paste, red chili powder, cook these spices till oil oozes from the mixture.
Further add chopped spinach and salt in spices and mix it well. Once the spinach gets mixed with spices, cover the lid and cook it for 5 minutes on medium flame.
Furthermore, add boiled chickpeas in it and mix well. At this stage it is up to you that how thick gravy you want.
Cover the lid and cook it for 2 minutes. Add garam masala powder and chopped coriander in it and give it a nice mix.
Finally, your delicious chana palak is now ready to serve. Serve it hot with chapati or paratha or jeer rice and enjoy.
