Carrot Halwa Recipe Gajar halwa is one of the most tastiest and most popular recipe of India. Usually it makes in winters. This halwa is cooked in pure ghee that means clarified butter, because in ghee its taste become more tastier. While you making gajar halwa, always use good quality of milk and khoya, this will make its taste more better. Though it take a lot of efforts and time in making this halwa, but the taste of it worth all the time. I am a huge fan of this dessert recipe as my mother use to make it in a very delicious way, she makes a lot of efforts to make it delicious. So today I am going to make this just exactly like her style. Let’s start making the recipe.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Carrot Halwa
- Carrot or gajar = 2 cups, grated
- Full fat milk = 1.5 cup
- Pure Ghee or clarified butter = 2 1/2 tbsp
- Cashews = 2 tbsp, chopped
- Almonds = 2 tbsp, chopped
- Raisins = 1 tbsp
- Pistachios = 1 tbsp, chopped
- Sugar = 1/4 cup
- Cardamom powder = 1/2 tsp
- Koya/Mawa = 2 tbsp
Instructions For Making Gajar Halwa
Take a heavy deep base pan, add ghee in it and heat it up, then add grated carrot in it and stir it well.
Let it cook for 5 to 8 minutes and then add milk in it.
Continue to stir it and cook it till milk boils and then turn the flame medium and let it boil.
Let it cook for 15 to 20 minutes and stir it in between to avoid burning. Add sugar in it and stir it till sugar melts in it.
Ones milk becomes thicken, add khoya/mawa in it and also add dry fruits like cashews, almonds, pistachios, raisins and cardamom powder.
Mix all the things well and continue to roast it till all the water evaporates from the mixture.
More you roast it, more it becomes tastier.
Your carrot halwa is ready, serve it hot by garnishing it with chopped pistachios.
