Bottle Gourd Halwa Recipe As we have all known about suji halwa, apple halwa, gajar halwa nad many more. Like all these variants of halwa, today I am going to share bottle gourd halwa which is also known as dudhi or lauki. The taste of this dessert dish is amazing. Ones you make it at you own then I am sure that you will become a fan of it. Though it is easy and quick recipe, that means it does not take much time. You can simply make it with the minimum ingredients like milk, sugar and dry fruits. Let’s know how to make it.
Required Ingredients For Bottle Gourd Halwa
- Bottle Gourd or loki or dudhi = 500 gm
- Ghee or clarified butter = 100 gm
- Cashews = 1 tbsp, chopped
- Almonds = 1 tbsp, chopped
- Raisins = 6 to 7
- Pistachios = 1/2 tbsp, chopped
- Sugar = 1 cup or as per taste
- Milk = 1/2 cup
- Cardamom powder = 1/2 tsp
- Mava or khoya = 50 gm
Instructions For Making Dudhi Halwa
Peel off the bottle gourd and wash it well.
Pat dry it and then grate it.
Take a pan, add ghee in it and roast all the dry fruits in it and after roasting them, keep aside.
Now add grated lauki in it and stir it, cook it till it slightly changes its color and shrinks.
Add milk in it and continue to mix it. Continue to cook it till it gets thicken.
Further add sugar in it and mix well. Stir it till sugar melts or dissolves completely.
Boil it till it thickens. Then add khoya in it and mix it well. Mix it till everything mix evenly and starts thicken.
Add roasted nuts and cardamom powder in it and continue to stir till it separates pan and converts into halwa consistency.
Your lauki halwa is ready, serve it hot and garnish it with some dry fruits.
