Bharwa Baingan Recipe | Stuffed Brinjal Curry Recipe

Bharwa Baingan or stuffed brinjal is one of the tastiest dish of mine. I love eating bharwa baingan a lot. If you haven’t tried yet then please do try this stuffed eggplant recipe and I am sure that you will definitely going to love it. There are 100 of method for making brinjal and every method gives a new taste and has its own unique flavor. So let’s go fo this recipe and make it at home.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Bharwa Baingan

  • Egg plant or brinjal or baingan = 12 small size

For Stuffing

  • Sesame seeds = 2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Coriander powder = 2 tsp
  • Dry red chilies = 5
  • Red chili powder = 1/3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Mustard seeds = 1/4 tsp
  • Onions = 2, chopped
  • Ginger = 1 inch piece
  • Garlic = 3 to 5 cloves
  • Coriander = 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Tomatoes = 2, chopped
  • Oil = 2 tbsp

Instructions for Making It

Step 1

Take a blender jar, add dry red chilies, ginger, garlic and tomatoes.

Step 2

Blend it to make a smooth paste.

Step 3

Now take a pan, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 4

After heating of oil, add cumin seeds, sesame seeds and mustard seeds in it and splutter for few seconds.

Step 5

Now add chopped onion in it and saute till golden brown in color.

Step 6

Add the prepared paste and mix it well for 5 to 8 minutes.

Step 7

In a mixture, add red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt. Mix it well till oil separated.

Step 8

Now wash brinjal well and make slits in it by keeping its stem.

Step 9

Add  the prepared masala or mixture in slit brinjals by using spoon on any other thing.

Step 10

Take  pan, add oil in it and then add mustard seeds, let the seeds splutter and then add stuffed brinjal in oil.

Step 11

Cook them continuously by stirring it and then you can see that stuffing comes out. That is absolutely okay. Also if you have a prepared masala left then you can add it into a pan.

Step 12

Now add some water in a pan and give it a stir. Cover the lid and let it cook for 12 to 15 minutes on a simmer flame.

Step 13

After the mentioned time, add chopped coriander and serve it.

Your stuffed brinjal are ready to serve. Serve them hot with roti, pratha or puri.
