Besan Barfi Recipe (How to make besan ki burfi at home)

Besan barfi or besan ki burfi is a sweet from the Indian subcontinent. It is served as deserted sweet at many places. The flavor of gram flour and ghee and that aromatic smell make you lips smacking and makes you to have more bite of it. I am sharing a simple yet delicious recipe of barfi which gives you joyful taste and can make within a very less time. Let’s know how to make it at home.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Besan Barfi-

  • Gram flour = 2 cups
  • Semolina or suji = 1/2 cup
  • Sugar = 1 cup or 200 gm
  • Water = 1/2 cup
  • Green cardamom powder = 1 tsp
  • Ghee = 1 cup
  • Almonds = 1 tbsp, chopped
  • Cashews = 1 tbsp, chopped

Method of making-

Step 1

Take a pan, pour ghee in it and heat it up. Add gram flour and semolina in it and continuously stir it becuse if you do not do so, then it will get lumps. So continuously stir it.

Step 2

Mix it well and roast it until an aromatic smell comes from it.

Step 3

Take another pan, add water in it and let it boil, then add sugar and let it dissolve in water.

Step 4

Now cook it until it gets stringy consistency.

Step 5

Mix this syrup in gram flour mixture and also add green cardamom powder. Mix all the things well and cook it until it comes equally or in a right consistency.

Step 6

Take a container or mould, place a butter paper in it and pour this barfi mixture in container. Tap it to make it equal and garnish it with chopped dry fruits.

Step 7

Let it set for 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 8

After the mentioned time, take it off from mould and cut it into pieces or any other shape which you want.

Your besan barfi is ready to serve.
