Aloo Tamatar Sabzi Recipe | Aloo Tamatar Curry For Puri

Aloo tamatar sabzi This is really an easy and quick recipe for puri which you can make at home. I refer it as a perfect recipe for puri but you can also have it with phulka or puri. Necessary Ingredients Required For Aloo tamatar Sabzi

  • Potato = 3, boiled
  • Tomato = 2, finely chopped
  • Onion = 1, medium size, finely chopped
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 2 tsp
  • Kasuri methi or dry fenugreek leaves = 1 tsp
  • Red chili powder = 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Coriander powder = 2 tsp
  • Black peppercorns = 4 to 5
  • Cumin seeds = 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf = 1
  • Asafoetida or hing = a pinch
  • Cardamom = 2
  • Garam masala powder = 1 tsp
  • Coriander = 2 tbsp, finely chopped
  • Oil = 2 tbsp

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

Take a pan, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 2

Now add cumin seeds, bay leaf, cardamom, asafoetida. Let them splutter for few seconds.

Step 3

Now add chopped onions in it and saute them for 3 tto 5 minutes till they becomes soft or pinkish in color.

Step 4

Add ginger and garlic paste and saute for 2 minutes.

Step 5

Then add chopped tomatoes and spices like red chili powder, garam masala powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and salt.

Step 6

Mix all the spices well and cook tomatoes till mushy.

Step 7

Now add boiled potatoes and cook them till spices are coated well on it.

Step 8

Add 1 and half cup of water and mix it well. Cover the id and cook it for 5 minutes on a low to medium flame.

Step 9

Open the lid and add chopped coriander and mix it well.

Your aloo tamatar ki sabzi is ready to serve.

Garnish with coriander leaves and serve it with puri.
