Aloo pakora Pakora or fritters or bhajji are always loved by everyone. These pakora or bhajji are generally prepared in rainy season or winter season. As winter season is almost arrived, so I thought of sharing this aloo pakora recipe with you. To making these potato fritters, you don’t need a lot of ingredients. Though all you need is potato slices, gram flour, salt and red chili powder. The batter is gram four is prepared and then potato slices are dipped in it and then they are fried in hot oil. That’s it, you are good to serve. Know the exact method and ingredients of making it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Aloo Pakora
- Potato = 2
- Gram flour or besan = 1/2 cup
- Garlic paste = 1 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Turmeric powder = 1/4 tsp
- Red chili powder = 1/2 tsp
- Asafoetida or hing = a pinch
- Baking soda = a pinch
- Water = as neeeded
- Oil = for deep frying
Instructions Fro Making It
Firstly, peel off the skin of potatoes and cut them into thin slices.
Now rinse them in cold water to remove starch from it.
Pat dry to remove excess water and keep them aside.
Take a bowl, add gram flour in it.
In gram flour, add red chili powder, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder and garlic paste.
Mix all the things well and then gradually add water and whisk it into a smooth batter.
Make the batter lump free and make sure the consistency of batter must be flowing.
Add baking soda in it and mix it gently. If you mix it harshly then baking soda loose its property.
Now take a deep pan, add oil in it and heat it up.
After heating of oil, take a potato slice, dip it into prepared batter and coat it completely.
Now add it into hot oil, add 5 to 6 more slices of potato in oil and fry them.
Flip them occasionally to fry them evenly and fry them till a golden brown color appear on it.
Drain the excess oil by shaking pakora in it and put them on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
Fry the remaining slices of potato with the similar method.
Your aloo pakora are ready to serve. Serve them hot by sprinkle some chaat masala and serve it with green chutney or sauce.
