Aloo Idli Recipe Hello readers!!! Today I am sharing a unique isli recipe which is really really delicious in taste. Those who prefer to eat potatoes and its spicy snack, this recipe goes well for them. Let’s know how to make it.
Necessary Ingredients Required For Aloo Idli Recipe
- Potato = 2 medium size
- Green chili = 2
- Curd = 1/2 cup
- Semolina (suji/rava) = 1 cup
- Baking soda = 1/2 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Oil = 1 tsp
Ingredients For Tempering
- Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder = 1/2 tsp
- Red chili powder = 1 tsp
- Salt = as per taste
- Green coriander = few leaves
- Green chilies = 2, slit
- Asafoetida = a pinch
- Oil = 1 tbsp
Instructions For Making Potato Idli
Firstly, peel off the skin of potatoes, wash them well and chop them into small cubes.
Now take a grinder jar, add chopped potatoes in it and also dd green chilies.
Grind them well and make a fine paste from it.
Now add curd in jar along with potato paste and grind them one more time so that curd will gets mixed well with potatoes.
Take a mixing bowl, add semolina in it and also add the prepared potato and curd paste.
Mix the paste well and add a dash of water in mixer jar, swirl it and add it to the batter. Mix well.
Now cover it and keep it aside for 15 minutes.
After 15 minutes, add salt and 1 tsp of oil in it and mix well. batter is ready for making idli.
Take a stand of idli and grease it with oil. In a pan, add water and bring it to a boil.
Add baking soda in the idli batter and mix it well, then pour this batter into the greased idli mould and then put this stand in the boiling water. Cover the lid and steam them for 15 to 20 minutes on a medium flame.
After the mentioned time, idli are ready, transfer them in a plate.
Instructions For Tempering
Take a pan, add oil in it and heat it up.
Ones oil gets heated, add mustard seeds in it and let them splutter for few seconds.
Then add slit green chilies and stir it. Add red chili powder, turmeric powder, salt. Mix well.
Furthermore, asafoetida in it and then add prepared idli in oil and cook them for a while by gently flipping them.
Add some chopped coriander and then turn the flame off.
Your delicious aloo idli are now ready to serve. Serve them hot with coconut chutney or sambhar. Enjoy.
