Afghani Chicken Recipe | Chicken Afghani With Gravy

Afghani Chicken Recipe Hey guys!!! I am here with the new recipe for chicken lovers. Today I am sharing the delicious recipe of Afghani chicken which you have eaten in restaurants. I am going to make it as exactly in the restaurant style. This is really amazing, delicious and easy recipe. The taste of this smoked chicken and the creamy gravy makes it just lip smacking recipe. Let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Afghani Chicken

  • Chicken = 700 gm
  • Ginger and garlic paste = 1 tbsp
  • Curd = 300 gm
  • Fresh cream = 200 gm
  • Lemon juice = 1 tbsp
  • Black pepper powder = 2 tsp
  • Green chilies = 3
  • Cashews = 10 to 12
  • Almonds = 10 to 12
  • Chaat masala = 1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder = 1/2 tsp
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Saffron threads = 3 to 4 strands
  • Oil = 3 tbsp

Instructions For Making It In Simple Steps

Step 1

In a bowl, add hot water and soak almonds in it for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, peel off the skin from almonds and keep aside.

Step 2

Wash chicken well, make cuts on the chicken pieces so that at the time of marination, marination gets inside the chicken pieces and keep it aside.

Step 3

Take a grinder jar, add almonds, 1 tbsp of curd, cashews and green chilies. Blend them and make a smooth paste from it.

Step 4

Take a mixing bowl, add curd and cream in it and whisk it well. Then add salt, black pepper powder, lemon juice, ginger and garlic paste, chaat masala, garam masala, saffron threads and ginger and garlic paste. Mix all the things well.

Step 5

Now add chicken pieces in it and mix it so that mixture gets coated well on chicken pieces.

Step 6

In an aluminium small cup, add activated charcoal in it and then place this cup in the chicken, add some drops of ghee and immediately cover the lid on the bowl. Let it smoke for a minute and then remove the cup. Keep it aside for 30 minutes.

Step 7

In a pan or a wok, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 8

Ones the oil gets heated, add chicken pieces in it and and fry them till a beautiful brown color appears on it and the chicken pieces must be tendered well.

Step 9

After frying all the chicken pieces, in the remaining oil, add the gravy of the marination and add cook it till oil separates from it. Continue to stir it for avoid burning.

Step 10

Finally, add the fried chicken pieces in it and cook for 5 minutes on the low flame.

Your Afghani chicken is now done. Serve it hot with butter naan or chapati. Enjoy.
