Achari Chicken Recipe Hello guys!!! Today I am here with the new recipe, that is achari chicken. This chicken is also know as pickled spices chicken because the spices which are added into this chicken are those spices which we add while making pickle. I just cannot wait to share this recipe with you guys, my mouth is already started mouth watering because I just love this chicken. The process of making this chicken is really easy you do not need much efforts to make this chicken. So let’s know how to make it.

Necessary Ingredients Required For Achari Chicken

  • Chicken = 1 kg, with bones

For Achari Masala

  • Nigella seeds/kalonji = 2 tsp
  • Fennel seeds = 2 tsp
  • Fenugreek seeds = 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander seeds = 1 tsp
  • Dry red chilies = 4

For Marination

  • Curd = 1/2 cup
  • Ginger paste = 2 tsp
  • Garlic paste = 2 tsp
  • Kashmiri Red chili powder = 3 tsp
  • Turmeric powder = 1 tsp
  • Chaat masala powder = 1/2 tsp

For Curry

  • Onion = 4, finely chopped
  • Dry red chilies = 3
  • Tomato = 3, finely chopped
  • Salt = as per taste
  • Mustard seeds = 1 tsp
  • Oil = 1/2 cup

Instructions For Making It

Step 1

For making achari masala, In a heated pan, add all the achari spices and dry roast them.

Step 2

After cooling, transfer them to a grinder and make granulated powder from it.

Step 3

For Marination, In a mixing bowl, add washed and cleaned chicken, add ginger and garlic paste, curd, kashmiri red chili powder, chaat masala powder, turmeric powder and prepared achari masala powder. Mix all the spices well and rub on the chicken pieces so that chicken pieces must be coated with spices. Keep this marinated chicken aside for half an hour.

Step 4

For the curry, take a pan, add oil in it and heat it up.

Step 5

Ones the oil gets heated, add dry red chilies and mustard seeds in it. Let them splutter for few seconds.

Step 6

Then add chopped onions in it and saute till onions becomes soft and light brown in color.

Step 7

Further add chopped tomatoes and saute till tomatoes becomes soft and mushy.

Step 8

Add salt to fasten the process of cooking.

Step 9

Now add marinated chicken in it and saute for 5 minutes. Turn the flame medium to low and cook for more 2 to 3 minutes.

Step 10

Add 2 cups of water in it and cover the lid. Let the chicken cook for 10 minutes on a medium flame or cook till chicken becomes tender.

Finally, your delicious achari chicken is now done. Serve it hot with naan or chapati and enjoy.
